Company History

Founded in 1981 by Suzette Werner Jones, a licensed occupational therapist, TherapyWorks evolved from a desire to meet the needs of children and adults in northeastern Oklahoma. Today, an experienced staff of physical, occupational and speech therapists combine their skills to make TherapyWorks one of the largest and most respected individually owned private practices in Oklahoma.

Using her rehabilitation experience, Jones left the traditional medical setting and ventured out on her own to establish Developmental Therapy Services in 1981. She specialized in on-site provision of occupational and physical therapy in schools. She evaluated and treated mentally and physically challenged children, trained teachers and helped administrators understand children's needs and the educational role of therapy.

The increasing demand for physical and occupational therapy in other areas of the community led to an expansion of services in 1984. Her team began working with care facilities for the developmentally disabled, home health agencies, hospitals and private industry.

In 1987, a specialty pediatric clinic was established in South Tulsa and the company was renamed TherapyWorks. Our clinic therapists have specialty certifications and expertise in numerous areas including:

Sensory Integration

Handwriting

Splinting, Casting and Orthotics

Neurodevelopmental Treatment

... and several other specialties

TherapyWorks' staff treats infants and children with:

Developmental Delays

Autism

Orthopedic Problems

Motor Impairments

Attention and Learning Disorders

... and many other conditions

The combination of specialized therapists in the clinic and in our community-based services allows TherapyWorks to coordinate treatment programs and excel in meeting the total needs of our clients.
